Rab Island · Plitvice Lakes · Samobor · Croatia
A Panchakarma-based retreat in Croatia, for people dealing with stress, early burnout signs, poor sleep, sensitive digestion or nervous system overload. 7 and 14 day programmes on Rab Island, at Plitvice Lakes and, for private stays, in Samobor or selected exclusive locations across Croatia.
Detox Croatia is not a spa holiday, a fasting programme or a generic detox escape.
It is a carefully structured retreat based on classical Ayurvedic principles, adapted to the needs of modern life. The programme brings together warm cooked food, daily treatments, rest, quiet nature, breath, rhythm and personal guidance so the body can reduce load and return to steadier function.
The focus is not on pushing harder. The focus is on creating the conditions in which digestion, sleep, movement and the nervous system can settle. Inside the retreat there is no forcing. You have space for silence, privacy and deep rest, but also access to consultations, conversation and personal support when needed.
This retreat is for people who are still functioning, but can feel that something is no longer aligned. The mind may still be pushing forward, while the body is asking for quiet, rhythm and support.
People often come with stress related digestive discomfort, bloating, IBS type symptoms, reflux like discomfort, constipation, sleep problems, fatigue, joint stiffness, anxiety, low mood, burnout symptoms or the feeling that their nervous system is constantly switched on.
This retreat is also for people who come preventively. You do not need to wait for burnout, chronic exhaustion or a medical diagnosis before taking care of your body. The retreat does not replace medical diagnosis or treatment. For more complex conditions, we discuss suitability individually before arrival.
The body slows down. It steps out of constant effort and begins adjusting to a quieter daily rhythm, regular meals and therapies.
Some clients begin to notice deeper sleep, calmer digestion and less inner tension. The body gradually settles into a rhythm it can follow.
Many describe a lighter body, more energy, calmer digestion and a clearer sense of inner stability. The nervous system begins to feel less like it is constantly on.
Shirodhara by the sea. Oil, rhythm and stillness for a nervous system that has been running on alert for too long.
Our main retreat locations are Rab Island and Plitvice Lakes. Rab offers sea air, silence, light, pine trees and the slower rhythm of an island outside the intensity of the summer season. Plitvice offers deep forest, clean air, water, stillness and a more inward atmosphere.
Private retreats can also be organised in Samobor or at selected exclusive locations across Croatia for individuals, couples or small private groups.
The place is part of the process, not just the background.
A steady daily rhythm, warm food adapted to your state and a slower pace. The body steps out of constant strain and into a structure where it can begin to reduce load.
A few days of rhythm, warmth and quiet. The body gradually lets go of tension that has built up for a long time. For some the change comes quickly, for others the process moves more slowly.
As the days pass, sleep often deepens, digestion settles and energy slowly returns. The nervous system begins to find a steadier baseline. Without forcing.
For prevention, rhythm reset, early burnout signs, sensitive digestion, sleep support, stress recovery and general renewal.
Recommended for deeper burnout recovery, long standing digestive issues, chronic tension, anxiety, low mood, mobility problems or when the body needs more time to respond.
The food in the programme is not a diet. It is warm, cooked, simple and adapted to your state, your digestion and the time of day. Three warm cooked Ayurvedic meals daily, including a light cooked evening meal. Ayurvedic teas throughout the day.
For stress related digestion, IBS type discomfort, bloating or a sensitive gut, the first step is often not more restriction. It is warmth, regularity and less pressure on the system. An exhausted body usually does not need to be shocked.
Most retreat platforms offer endless options: yoga holidays, spa packages, juice cleanses, luxury escapes and general detox programmes. Detox Croatia works differently.
We work with small groups of 4 to 8 clients, a clear daily rhythm and an individual Ayurvedic approach. You are not choosing from a catalogue. You are entering a carefully held environment designed for prevention, recovery and deep rest. The programme is personal, quiet and structured. That is the point.
The retreat is built around one simple principle: the body and mind need enough safety, quiet and rhythm to reconnect with themselves.
There is no pressure to perform, no forced group sharing, no expectation to be social. Some clients need silence, privacy and long periods of rest. Others need more conversation, consultation and guidance. Both are welcome.

The programme adapts to your current state
Structure, but not pressure. Guidance, but not control.
Every date follows the same core Ayurvedic process, but the season shifts the emphasis: spring for lightness, autumn for regeneration, winter for the nervous system. Before confirming, we always have a short conversation to see whether the programme fits your current state and expectations.
For digestion, lightness, energy and coming out of winter fatigue.

The price includes the full programme your body needs during your stay. Treatments are not fixed in advance or divided into standard packages. They are adapted day by day, according to your current state, energy, digestion, sleep and capacity to receive. We do not offer lower and higher levels of care, because recovery should not depend on choosing a more expensive package.
Private retreats, individual programmes and retreats for couples are available on request. These are organised separately, outside the group dates, adapted entirely to your schedule, location preference and personal situation. Write to us and we will find the right format together.
Is this Panchakarma?
The programme is based on Ayurvedic and Panchakarma principles, but the intensity is always adapted to the person. Not everyone goes through the deep procedures. Some need a gentler reset, others a more thorough process.
Is the programme suitable for burnout and chronic exhaustion?
It can be suitable for people dealing with the effects of long-term stress: exhaustion, constant tension, poor sleep, mental fog and the feeling that the body no longer recovers on its own. We always talk first to see whether the approach fits your state.
Will I be hungry?
No. The food is simple, warm, cooked and easy to digest. The goal is not starvation, but relieving the digestive system.
Can I come if I have health issues?
It depends on your state. That is why we have a short conversation before arrival. The programme is not a substitute for medical diagnosis, treatment or a doctor’s advice. For serious, acute or chronic conditions, a prior conversation and, if needed, consultation with a doctor are required.
How long does the programme last?
Usually 7 to 14 days. The shorter programme is a gentler entry into the process, while the longer cycle allows slower, deeper and more carefully guided work with the body.
What is included in the programme?
Small groups of 4 to 8 clients. Three warm cooked Ayurvedic meals daily including a light cooked evening meal. Ayurvedic teas throughout the day. Initial Ayurvedic consultation and individual guidance. 2 to 4 therapeutic elements per day depending on your state. Oil treatments, Shirodhara, Nasya, sauna or herbal steam and gentle cleansing therapies. Post retreat integration call after returning home.
Do I need to have burnout to come?
No. Many clients come preventively, before reaching burnout. You do not need a medical diagnosis or a crisis point to benefit from the programme. If you feel that your body is carrying more than it can easily recover from, that is often enough of a reason.
What happens after the retreat?
Each client receives practical guidance for returning home, including food, rhythm, rest and lifestyle recommendations that can be continued in daily life. A post retreat integration call is included so the transition back into work and normal responsibilities does not erase the progress made during the retreat.
The programme is not a substitute for medical diagnosis, treatment or a doctor’s advice. For serious, acute or chronic health conditions, consultation with a doctor is needed before arrival.
The programme is led by Branko Marković, founder of Detox Croatia and an Ayurvedic practitioner with more than 15 years of experience in individual work, Panchakarma style retreats and pulse based Ayurvedic assessment.
Branko completed a four year study of Ayurveda followed by one year of practice, five years in total, and continued his professional training through clinical and retreat settings in India, France and Norway. Over the last five years, his work has included integrative retreat formats combining Ayurveda with modern supportive approaches and holistic diagnostic perspectives.
The professional team includes experienced Ayurvedic therapists and integrative medical support. Dr. Mateja Marčec, MD, is part of the wider professional team and can be available for video consultation or additional integrative medical perspective when appropriate.
After five retreats, each time I returned with a calmer mind, more energy and a feeling that my body was coming back into balance.
I first came while recovering from long-COVID. Branko and the team adapted the program to my state. With regular visits, my digestion stabilised, the heart palpitations gradually decreased, and through one winter I was not ill at all, which had never happened to me before.
H. W., Zürich, SwitzerlandThe detox program has become my annual reset for body and mind.
Branko has been my Ayurvedic practitioner for more than 10 years. The program helps me handle stress more easily, with more energy, better focus and a sense that the body is genuinely recovering.
